GMail

Sign up your child with an email provider, the most popular, free and tested with Mifrenz is GMail. However GMail now has an age restricted of 13 years. Take a look at this article in Time Magazine about children using GMail.

VFEmail, is a other free option that has been tested with Mifrenz.
GMail settings

After you have created the GMail account for your child, you will need to enable IMAP access.

In GMail click on the settings link,

Choose the 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP' tab,

Enable IMAP.

Java

Once you have a GMail account, you can install Mifrenz.

If you don't have the correct version of Java on your PC you will be taken to the Java website where you can download Java for free.

If you are using an Apple Mac, you should already have the correct version of Java, but if not choose 'Software Update...' from the Apple menu.
Your email address
-
Mifrenz requires you to provide your own (parent's) email address.

This is used by Mifrenz to send you requests from your child for new contacts.

It will also be used to ask you to purchase Mifrenz each time your child sends an email.
